WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?
Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy which uses the power of suggestion to help reprogram the unconscious mind to allow us to feel better about ourselves and make better decisions. At Pure Hypnosis, we use a number of proven techniques to put you into a deep state of relaxation, where the conscious mind is very relaxed, and opens the subconscious mind up to suggestion.
WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?
Hypnotherapy feels like, and is, a deep state of relaxation. You are still in control at all times and will be able to hear everything going on around you. It is a very calming experience, where you will be very relaxed mentally and physically. You won't go to sleep, lose control or do anything you don not want to.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A HYPNOTHERAPY SESSION?
First and foremost, we will have a chat about you and how we can help you, looking at your goals and objectives. We like to ensure you feel comfortable with what the sessions include and explain in further detail how hypnotherapy will work for you and provide guidance on how many sessions you may need.
Each session is tailored to your needs, but as a guide, you will be asked to relax and then you will be guided into a state of relaxation, taking away any distracting thoughts you may have. We then move into a deeper state of relaxation where the powerful suggestions for positive change begin. Once this is complete, you are then taken out of hypnosis and answer any questions you may have and discuss your experience and goals further. You may also be given some 'homework' to do in between sessions and other techniques that you can do on your own at home.
WILL YOU MAKE ME DO SOMETHING WITH WHICH I AM NOT COMFORTABLE?
No. At no point will you be made to look or feel foolish (we are not stage hypnotists), or do or say anything against your own will. You are in control at all times.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
This is dependant on the goals you want to achieve. Smoking Cessation needs at least three sessions, where as other treatments may only need one hypnotherapy session. This is discussed at the initial consultation.
